The TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport series has a clear focus on material selection, with regular models featuring titanium cases and flagship models upgraded to precious metals. Both materials have their advantages and unique charm, effectively covering different needs. Titanium's core advantage lies in its lightweight nature, providing a more comfortable wearing experience without noticeable burden during daily use. The flagship model's use of 18K rose gold adds another highlight; TAG Heuer is very generous with its use of precious metals. While this gives the gold watch a slightly heavier feel, it is precisely this weight that highlights the sincerity of the precious metal version. The 18K 5N rose gold version features an upgraded gold bezel with a tachymeter scale, emphasizing the overall integrity of the precious metal and giving the watch a particularly strong luster. The Extreme Sport's case design is also distinctive and complex. TAG Heuer drew inspiration from the air intake grilles of racing cars and sports cars, adding three horizontal stripes to the side of the watch that extend to the lugs, giving the case a rugged look. But what's even more ingenious is that the traditional precious metal rose gold allows the Carrera Extreme Sport, which originally focused on showcasing racing elements, to successfully incorporate half of its luxurious style. This unexpected harmony is achieved when combined with the watch's inherent cutting-edge and cool watchmaking style.

TAG Heuer opted for more durable black DLC titanium, which also matches the overall black and gold color scheme of the watch. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters, easily handling everyday wear. The skeletonized dial is a core highlight of the Carrera Extreme Sport series, and this new rose gold model amplifies this advantage through its dial design. Its entire skeletonized frame, even the grooves, is treated with a black coating and finished with granular textures reminiscent of asphalt on a racetrack, creating a solid and stable base. Meanwhile, the hour markers, hands, outer edge of the dial, chronograph subdials, and the clearly visible date ring are all accented with striking gold. This design not only fully showcases the classic charm of the black and gold combination but also further reinforces the "X"-shaped skeletonized design throughout the watch. It adds richness to the dial's layering without sacrificing the "clear and efficient" readability that the Carrera series values most, achieving a balance between aesthetics and practicality.

The three-register chronograph design is highly symmetrical, creating a visually pleasing and comfortable experience. Poorly executed skeletonized dials can often appear cluttered and overwhelming. The minute counter is at 3 o'clock, the small seconds at 6 o'clock, and the hour counter at 9 o'clock, all complemented by a prominent central gold chronograph seconds hand, ensuring clear readability of all time information. The mainspring is also visible through the 12 o'clock position.

The TH20-00 movement is TAG Heuer's current mainstay chronograph movement, an upgrade from the classic 02 chronograph movement. The upgrade not only supports bidirectional winding, improving winding efficiency, but also extends the movement's maintenance and warranty periods. In terms of core configuration, it retains the column wheel and vertical clutch combination, ensuring smooth and accurate chronograph operation while providing an 80-hour power reserve for everyday wear. Even after a weekend and two or three days of rest, the watch will not stop due to insufficient power and require readjustment.
